Our team is made up of volunteers who are passionate about supporting mental health and wellness in our community. The youth and young adults who fill these roles are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of the youth that we serve. These volunteers are trained in helping the youth in numerous ways and they are the backbone of our organization. We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals and groups to get involved and make a difference in the lives of those we serve.
Matthew Oliver is currently serving as the President of Youth Move Pinellas. Alongside pursuing his academic endeavors, he holds the esteemed position of Student Government treasurer and have recently assumed the role of Region 2 coordinator. In addition, he fulfills the responsibilities of a manager at CAVA, a Greek restaurant, and is actively engaged in Student Life initiatives.
Beyond his professional commitments, he devotes his time to various volunteer activities, including supporting families, participating in events such as the Firestone Grand Prix, and contributing to mental health conferences.
In his free time, he enjoys being with loved ones, spending time participating in outdoor activities, listening to music, and watching quality TV. He also draws from personal experiences dealing with mental health challenges like ADHD and Anxiety.
Vikki is a Volunteer Peer Supporter. She volunteers with NAMI, Zero Suicide Partners of Pinellas, and the Children's Mental Health Initiative, and the Florida PTA Student Empowerment Committee. She is also a Youth Advocate Certified in Youth Mental Health First Aid.
Vikki enjoys writing, spending time with loved ones; including 2 dogs, dancing and helping others when possible. She is extremely creative in ways of telling her story.
She is a survivor of childhood trauma, domestic violence, bullying, and is a survivor of a family member’s suicide.
Vikki has been diagnosed with PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), Depression and Anxiety, and a few other diagnoses.
Vikki is proud to say that she has overcome substance abuse, a severe eating disorder, self-harm, and suicidal ideations and attempts.
Vikki’s goal is to be a light in someone’s life; while helping them to find hope; healing and growth in their recovery journey.
Meet Charli, a sophomore at USF, originally from the sunny shores of West Palm Beach, Florida. Charli's currently immersed in her studies, majoring in biomedical sciences with a minor in psychology. She's got her sights set on becoming a child and adolescent psychiatrist – a perfect blend of her love for science and understanding the human mind.
When Charli isn't hitting the books or hanging out in the lab, you'll find her soaking up the Florida sunshine at the beach or daydreaming about her next travel adventure. Yup, she's definitely got a serious case of wanderlust!
Oh, and did we mention? Charli is also the secretary of Youth Move Pinellas! She's loving being a part of such a welcoming and positive community. Here's to exciting times ahead!
Meet Destini, a highly skilled and versatile mental health professional with expertise in program management, event operations, and behavioral therapy. She is known for her warm and compassionate personality that provides comfort, tenacity that ensures successful outcomes, and a strategic mindset that tackles challenges effectively. Destini is open about sharing her lived experience with ADHD and Generalized Anxiety disorder.
Over the past 7 years, Destini has wholeheartedly dedicated herself to assisting clients while leveraging her expertise and unwavering commitment to enhancing the lives of others. She currently serves as the Head Supportive Adult for Youth MOVE Pinellas and a Program Manager at NAMI Pinellas County.
Meet Katy, a native of South St. Pete, initially joined NAMI Pinellas as a member before becoming a facilitator and later joining as an employee. With personal experiences of OCD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and coping with suicide loss, Katy is passionate about community advocacy in Pinellas County.
Professionally, she has held administrative roles at various organizations over the past decade. Katy also owns Tampa Bay Community Photography and enjoys attending local events, beach days, thrift store shopping, and spending time with her dog, friends, and family.
We've teamed up with various community organizations to provide a safe and supportive environment for our youth and young adults. Through our partnerships, we aim to prioritize youth mental health and well-being, instilling the belief that every young person is valued and deserving of support and advocacy. Together, we're making a difference and showing our youth they matter.
